If this happened in the real world the animals would be scared of humans because to animals humans have more power because of the guns they food they give the animals how they take care of them. If there was a farmer that mean and never fed his animals he would 've lost his farm all of his animals are dieing and he doesn't really fed them so they would look very weak and sick. The horese in the story wouldn't have gone to the slaughter house they would've took him to a place where horses can get better, and a horse is a farmers best friend and they don't kill horses they kill pigs.
